About You

As our new Chef or a part of the Service team, you will play a important role in the restaurant experience we are known for.

Your responsibilities include:
• Service in the restaurant alongside the rest of the team
• Service in our barn during summer weddings and larger events
• Preparing the restaurant and kitchen for service, and all tasks that follow
• Supporting the team with daily operations required to run a small destination restaurant
• Gardening tasks in summer
• Light outdoor and maintenance tasks during winter

 

We are searching for someone with a true passion for hospitality and a desire to create memorable experiences for our guests.

For the Chef position, we prefer formal culinary education and 2–4 years of professional kitchen experience.For the Service role, we prefer 2–4 years of service experience and solid wine knowledge. Work schedule is 5 days per week, primarily evening service on 4 days, with flexibility required. Start date is March 2026, and the contract runs until December 20th, 2026, with the possibility of extension or permanent employment. We offer competitive conditions. The Chef role is a 100% position, and the service role is part-time (30–80%).

Owner and head chef Marius Martinsen has experience from several high-end Oslo restaurants, including Michelin restaurant Haga. He will always ensure the team aims for quality and unique experiences for our guests.

We have apprentices and colleagues in housekeeping, breakfast, service, and kitchen. Every part of our organization is equally important. Hence our team is dynamic and helps wherever needed.

The Restaurant

Beautifully located right on the lakefront, this charming hotel offers one of Norway's top dining experiences. Our herbs, tomatoes and cucumbers are grown at our organic fields, and all products are selected and handpicked by Marius from local producers.

Selected days, the chef offers a 17-course menu, "from field to table," a rare and unique homemade gastronomic experience.

Both Elise and Marius are trained chefs, and passionate about delivering excellent products to our customers. Before we moved to Utskarpen and established "Til Elise Fra Marius" we both joined
"The Norwegian National Chef Team" and worked at culinary restaurants such as Kulinarisk Akademi, Restaurant Oro and Haga Restaurant, among others.
